Two kinds of images end up in a build: yours, and generated ones. The platform's rule of thumb is simple — your real images wherever they exist, generated art for the rest, all under one art direction. This chapter is the machinery behind that.
The image library
Open it from the + menu in the builder chat. Upload photos, logos, product shots — each image is scoped either to this chat (one project) or to all sessions (your whole account: logos and brand marks belong here). At build time the resolver places library images where they fit — the builder sees what each image is, so the storefront photo lands on the storefront section, not in a random card.
AI image settings
Also in the + menu. This is where you steer generation: the provider/quality level and the stylistic preferences applied when the build needs imagery you didn't supply. Settings scope like images do — account-wide defaults with per-chat overrides for projects that need a different look. Generated art follows the build's committed art direction (see the design director), which is why a build's illustrations feel like a set rather than a scrapbook.
Practical rules
- Faces, food, products, places: upload. Generation is good; authenticity is better, and viewers notice.
- Backgrounds, headers, decorative art: generate. This is where AI imagery is strongest and cheapest.
- Logos: always the library, account-scoped. A generated "logo-like" mark on your real business is exactly the kind of wrongness the resolver exists to prevent.
- Reference images are a different feature — they steer style rather than appearing in the build; that's covered in Teaching the builder your world.
