Websites & web apps

Plan the pages, data and visitor actions before starting a website build.

Start with a useful brief

Describe the audience, pages, visual direction and primary action. For example: “Build a pottery studio website with a class list, teacher profiles and a booking enquiry form. Use warm colours and make it easy to use on a phone.” Include the real content you already have.

Decide whether the site needs a server

A portfolio or information site can be static. Accounts, stored bookings, private dashboards and database-backed workflows need server-side functionality. Explain what must be saved, who can see it and how it changes; the build plan should reflect those requirements.

Review the plan before building

Check page names, navigation, form behaviour and the proposed data flow. Make your first version small enough to test end to end. If a payment or external service is involved, describe the required connection before approving the work.

Work with content and imagery

Provide approved copy, logos and reference material in the build conversation. Ask for generated artwork where it helps. After generation, review images in context, including crops, mobile layout, readability and text alternatives.

Test the visitor journey

Open the preview and follow the main task from the first page to its result. Submit the form, check required fields and verify that saved data is actually available. For an account-based app, test both signed-in and signed-out behaviour. Read the build’s verification findings as well.

Edit and publish

Use direct editing where the output supports it, or request changes in chat. Publish a supported build, deploy to an appropriate host or download the files. Server-backed sites need their runtime as well as their front-end assets.

Keep improving after launch

Connect your domain’s Search Console and GA4 properties to inspect search and traffic. Give the SEO team a specific question, review its proposals and follow the results. Publishing a website does not automatically connect its analytics.
