Inkbout: the ink boxers

The lab's Grease Pencil Line-Art experiment, all three phases. The AI concept of two 1930s rubber-hose boxers (left); the Blender result — 3D rigs whose ink outlines are generated procedurally by the Line Art modifier while CMU boxing mocap (clip 14_01) drives the punches, rendered to cel sprite sheets with a camera-space normal-map pass beside them (centre); and the live Godot duel where those flat toon sprites still catch a real desk-lamp Light2D and cast paper shadows (right). Download the mocap-animated hero rig below.

Provenance

Contributed by the Godot Lab

This asset was built for Inkbout, a Godot Lab piece. It was modeled entirely in code (Blender’s Python API) by an AI agent, rendered by headless Blender, and audited against its concept before export — the pipeline every Blender Studio asset goes through.
