Lamplighter's Round: the lamplighter

The Godot Lab's first hero, in all three phases of the 2D pre-rendered pipeline. The AI concept turnaround (left); the Blender build — fused voxel-remeshed masses per material, rigid-bound to a 14-bone rig, keyframed walk/idle/lamp-raise, rendered from four real directions into a 48-frame sprite sheet with a camera-space NORMAL-MAP pass beside it (centre); and the character in the live Godot build, where those normal maps make every lamp a true 2D light rolling over coat folds and cobbles (right).

Provenance

Contributed by the Godot Lab

This asset was built for Lamplighter's Round, a Godot Lab piece. It was modeled entirely in code (Blender’s Python API) by an AI agent, rendered by headless Blender, and audited against its concept before export — the pipeline every Blender Studio asset goes through.
