Hey — I saw your third build this week open with the same paragraph you pasted into the first two: your hours, your menu, the line about the wood-fired oven being original to the building. I get why you're doing it. But you're rebuilding your restaurant's memory from scratch every single time, and the builder is happy to forget everything you told it the moment the chat ends. There's a better way, and it's sitting in your account already.
Start with the facts it keeps guessing at
Take that PDF your business partner made with the wine list and the seasonal hours and the two lines about why you don't take reservations on Fridays, and upload it as a knowledge file. Attach it to the account, not just one chat, and every future build reads it as ground truth instead of inventing something plausible. That's the real risk with these agents — they're very good at filling gaps with content that sounds right and isn't. Your hours aren't a gap to be filled. They're a fact to be looked up.
Then show it what "ours" looks like
You mentioned liking the way that oyster bar's site handles its menu — big photography, prices tucked quietly to the side. Don't describe that in a prompt. Attach the site itself as a reference, and the design director designs toward it instead of guessing at what "clean and a little upscale" means to you. "Like this, but ours" is a brief the system can actually execute on, in a way that adjectives never quite are.
Use your own photos
And please, load your actual food photos into the image library before your next build, not after. AI-generated plating is convincing right up until a regular customer notices the dish in the hero photo isn't one you've ever served. Once your images are in the library, the builder reaches for them where they belong and only generates to fill what you haven't shot yet — the empty corner of a page, an icon, a background texture.
Save the one you like
When you land on a build you're happy with — and from what you showed me, the second one was close — save it as a template. The next location, or the next seasonal menu redesign, starts from that instead of from a blank chat. This is basically what agencies do once they've built two or three sites: they stop starting over and build a private shelf of starting points.
| Feature | Gives the builder | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Knowledge | Facts it must not invent | Per chat or account-wide |
| References | Taste and constraints | Per chat or account-wide |
| Image library | Your real assets | Account-wide |
| Templates | A working starting point | Reusable forever |
